Preparing to record live events
Apr. 8th, 2025 11:39 amI have been recording i Sebastiani (and similar) shows for many years, and have over the time been trying to improve the final product. There are a lot of things that have impaired the quality, including:
1. Batteries running out mid-show
2. Forgetting to turn on, or accidentally turning off some piece of equipment
3. It taking too much of my time and focus to set everything up
4. It being too much of a burden to carry all the equipment to the site
5. Having the settings wrong on cameras or microphones
6. Noise in the vicinity of the event
7. Radio noise that interferes with the wireless mics
8. Changing lighting during the show (e.g. sunset)
9. Rain starting during the show
10. Winds blowing across the microphones
11. Poor stage lighting
12. Other things that involve people's actions or opinions, so no details here
So, I have been working on some plans to simplify setup, and to have plenty of battery life. We'll see how it goes.
